James R. Clark, 77 of Urbana passed away, Wednesday, February 04, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 17, 1937 in Sidney, Ohio. Jim was a 1956 graduate of Rosewood High School. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Urbana, where he served as a trustee. Jim served on the Champaign County Fair Board, he was a 4-H advisor and an Urbana Township Trustee. He also was a member of Harmony Lodge # 8 F. & A. M., the K of P Lodge Westville and the Urbana Lions Club. Jim enjoyed gardening, raising Haflinger horses, camping and going to Holmes County to spend time with his Amish families.
His survivors include, his wife of 56 years, whom he married, November 28, 1958, Janice L. (Mapp) Clark, his daughters, Deborah (Don) Baetz of Plain City, Melinda Sue (Douglas) Huston of Dresden, Ohio and Paula Anne (Doug) Bovey of, St. Paris, Ohio, his grandsons, Aaron Potter, Jacob McCormick, Derek (Zoe) Van Hoose, Travis Van Hoose, Trent (Maggie) Van Hoose, Dustin Bovey, Brad (Ashley) Bovey and Kyle Bovey and 6 great-grandsons & 1 great granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Laura (Beekman) Clark.; his half-brothers, Roy, Clyde and Laurel Clark and Garnard Jenkins; his half-sisters Lois Loffer, Lorene Davis, Alice Calland, Marcella Shafer and Mavis Rower.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Masonic services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 in the 1st Presbyterian Church Urbana with Pastors, Rev. Kevin Horrigan, Doug Bovey and Mimi Ault officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Urbana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church 116 W. Court St., Urbana, Ohio 43078 or to Barely Used Pets, 2790 E. US HWY 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
