James S. Conley, 78 of Urbana, passed away, Monday, November 5, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 4, 1934 in Paintsville, KY the son of Willie and Jenny (Pelfrey) Conley. He attended Mechanicsburg Schools and Faith Fellowship Church in Urbana. James retired after 22 ½ years of service with Conrail. He was an avid mushroom hunter and a NASCAR Fan, following Mark Martin and Matt Kenseth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna Conley, his sons, Duane (Amy) Conley of Dayton, Rick (Susan) Conley of Cable, his daughter, Lisa (Mark) Garver of Urbana, his grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Nicholas, Amber, Shawn, Brandon, Lauren, Jessica, Ryan and Aaron, his great grandchildren, Sydney, Dawn, Olivia, Hunter and Silas; his brothers, Jessie (Carolyn) Conley of St Paris and Francis (Bea) Conley of Ft. Myers, FL.
James is preceded in death by his brothers, John Conley, William Conley, Haskel Conley; his sisters, Mabel Kuhn, Bertha Broderick and Mary Rose Conley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, 257 Main St., Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Funeral services to Celebrate James’ Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Faith Fellowship Church, 236 Bloomfield Ave., Urbana, Ohio with the Pastor Roger Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
