James “Jim” Alan Dunn, 59 of Cable, Ohio, passed away, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 28, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lexie Pearle (McCloud) and John Giffen Dunn.
Jim was a 1971 graduate of Grove City High School and attended Ohio University. He was a 35 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 189 and worked for the Bruner Corporation mechanical contractors.
He was owner of Dunnawee Stables and farm and a member of Ohio Harness Horseman Association. Jim loved his family, loved his horses and was his happiest when surrounded by both and living on his horse farm. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lexie P. and John G. Dunn, step-mother, Betty Dunn, sister and brother-in-law, Vivian (Earl) Krebs, sister-in-law, Peggy Baier and father-in-law, William Fritts.
Survivors include his wife, Karen (Fritts) Dunn of Cable, Ohio, his daughter, Haley (Heath) Lehmkuhler of Evansville, Indiana, sons, Joshua (Heidi) Harlor of San Diego, California and J. Logan (Jen) Dunn of Woodstock, Ohio; granddaughters, Makenzie and Aubree Lehmkuhler; brothers, Paul Baier and John Ronald Dunn, sister, Shirley Dickman; his mother-in-law, Connie Fritts of Mechanicsburg and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg with Pastor Karen Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W. Harding Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45504.
