James "Jim" P. Culp Sr., 65 of Cable Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 19, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio and was a 1972 graduate of Triad High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jim was a member of Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church. He retired after 19 years as press manager of Ball Corporation in Hillard. Jim was a diehard Buckeyes fan and enjoyed fishing, listening to music and singing but most of all he loved to make people happy.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Vicky (Ross) Culp, his daughters, Paula A. (Kevin) Wynn, and Blair Elizabeth Culp.; son, James P. (Cindy) Culp Jr.; sisters, Helen (James) Howard, Pat (Leonard) Cordell, and Becky (James) Shearer; grandchildren, Christopher, Casey, Vendalyn, Cassie, and James P. as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Wilbur Lloyd Culp and Pauline Mae (Ryan) Burks, brother, Joe Culp, and sister, Sandy Hayes.
A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in the Woodstock Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Street officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 3-4 pm. Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Condolences may be made to the family at www.vernonfh.com
