James C. “Jim” Williams 67, of Urbana, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born September 23, 1941 in Urbana the son of the late Carey and Louise (Boystel) Williams.
Jim was a 1960 graduate of Triad High School. He retired in 1999 from International Harvester after 34 ½
years of service. Jim also was the owner of City Limits Gun Shop in Urbana. He was a life member of NRA.
Jim was recently made an Honorary fire fighter of the Columbus fire department. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Jim was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a good and faithful servant. He loved to share the word of God and witness to all.
Jim is survived by his wife of 44 ½ years Eula (Sparks), his son, Rick (Wendy) Shaffer of Ashley, Ohio, his daughters, Joyce (Steve) Wiederkehr Jr. of Springfield & Janet (Shane) Ruhe of Springfield, his grandchildren, Brandon, April, Justin, Sarah, Emma, Stephanie & great grandchildren, Gretchen & Campbell, his step mother, Abby Williams of Springfield, his brothers, Tom (Judy) Williams of Springfield, Kenny Williams of Urbana, John (Beverly) Williams of Urbana & Jerry (Anita) Williams of East Liberty, his sisters, Carol DeLaney of Urbana, Elizabeth “Bunny” Sager of Springfield & Ann Runyan of Delaware, his brother-in-law, Ray Rollins of Springfield, as well as numerous nieces & nephews of several generations.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cathy Rollins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 in Grace Baptist Church 960 Children’s Home Rd. Urbana.
Funeral service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the church with the Pastors, Rev. George W. Riddell IV and Rev. Ray Kaffenbarger. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery Cable.
