James “Tate” Wyatt 84 of Urbana, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 10, 2011 in Heartland of Urbana.
He was born March 12, 1927 in Summerville, Georgia the son of Homer David & Lizzie (Starling) Wyatt. James served his country in the United States Army. He retired after 50 years as a supervisor with Ohio Steel – Teledyne. James was an avid sport fan.
He is survived by his Life Partner of 50 years, Evelyn Jones of Urbana, his daughters, Deborah K. Freeman of Springfield, Ohio, Tamara L. Jones of Germantown, Maryland, Carolyn A. Honore of Urbana and Cheryl L. (Thurline) Ceasar of Columbus, Ohio, his grandchildren, Mychael, Lanelle, Curtis and Jamie; numerous great grandchildren & great great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews; special brother-in-law, Kenneth Gossett.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Homer, Bass and Oscar Wyatt and his granddaughter, Laquitta Yvonne Elliott and son-in-law, Lester Honore.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, 235 Miami St., Urbana, Ohio. A private Entombment will be held at the convenience of the family in Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum, Springfield.
