Janet Louise Robinson, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 in the Kobacker House, Columbus.
She was born April 15, 1936 in Springfield, the daughter of Francis Roland and Mary Clara (Brown) Henry. She was a 1954 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and worked at Smitty's Drug Store and Mechanicsburg Telephone Company as a switchboard operator. Janet retired as a secretary after 25 years of service from the Champaign County Engineer's office and was a Past President of the County Commissioners' Clerks and Engineer's Administrative Professionals Association of Ohio, serving in 1982. Janet also served as Clerk of Goshen Township. She was a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge where she was a Rebekah and was also a member of the King's Daughters. Janet participated in euchre playing card clubs, enjoyed Bingo, and always looked forward to her Vegas and Belterra trips. Janet was a keen observer of political events and elections and enjoyed watching the votes come in.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Louise (Robert) Robinson-Bond of Dublin and Sharon Kay (Dennis) Robinson-Walls of Marysville; her son, Daniel Wayne (Marsha) Robinson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; her grandchildren, Travis, Christopher, Emma, Nina, Lydia, Jack, Abigail, Katherine, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Courtney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Neer Robinson; her son, Robert James Robinson; and her brother, Richard Francis Henry.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the SKILLMAN, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 in the funeral home with Rev. Mimi Ault officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
