Jayne D. Kauffman, 78, of Cable, passed away, Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born July 29, 1938 in Urbana, Ohio and was a 1956 graduate of Salem High School. She was a member of the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union. She retired from Marie’s Candies in West Liberty after 28 years of service and also worked for many years at the Ohio Caverns.
Jayne enjoyed baking; decorating cakes of all occasions, cookies and she was well known for her angel food cakes. She also enjoyed gardening and collecting cardinals. She would always think of others before herself; but her greatest joys were her great grandson and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David L. Kauffman, her daughters, who adored her, Kendra (Richard) Hunt, Larenda (Richard) Cordial and Lori (Norman) Kennedy; her grandchildren, Jennifer Hunt, Mara Jayne Cordial, Kaleigh (Matthew) Keeton, Bradley Kennedy and Ashley Kennedy, her great grandson Braxton Brennan; a sister-in-law, Linda Connolly and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jayne is preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Faye (Kieffer) Connolly, her brothers, Jerry, Jim & Jack Connolly and her sisters, Joan Hess, Janet Wallace and Joyce Bailey.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 in the church with Pastors, Rev. David VanHoose and Rev. Mike Grable. Burial will follow in Kingscreek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union Building Fund, 1121 N. Main St., Urbana, Ohio 43078.
Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
