Jean Hatfield, 74, of Catawba, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 in Springfield Regional Hospital. She was born January 13, 1935, the daughter of Victor and Virgie (Sparks) Lemaster.
Jean thoroughly enjoyed life and loved working at RANCO in Plain City, OH, where she spent 25 years. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Jean is survived by her husband, Snowden Hatfield; daughter, Tamberia (Darryl) Propst of Springfield, OH; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly (Justin) Powell, Amy Propst and her fiancé Chris Smith and Kenneth Propst and Steph, all of Springfield, OH; great-grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Jordan and Justin Powell Jr.; brother, Charles (Linda) Lemaster of Milford Center, OH; sisters, Janet (Alfred) Keeler and Milisa (Tom) Nott both of Mechanicsburg, OH, brother-in-law, Arnold Ballard of Catawba, sister-in-law, Emma Russell of Catawba, OH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Candice, brothers, Paul Whaley and Tommy Lemaster; sisters, Patsy Ballard, Carmaledia Rice and Peggy Jane Lemaster.
Following Jean’s wishes, her body will be cremated. The family will be hosting a celebration of Jean’s life. Friends are invited to a picnic on Saturday, September 26, 2009, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Darby Club in Mechanicsburg. Services are entrusted to Skillman, McDonald &Vernon Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.
