Sarah Joan (Nance) Dixon, 89, of Woodstock, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Joan was born June 10, 1932 in Woodstock, Ohio the daughter of the late Fred and Florence (Donnal) Nance. She was a graduate of Woodstock High School. Joan was a member of the Universalist Church, Woodstock, Ohio. She worked later in life for over 25 years as a rural carrier for the United States Post Office. Joan was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds. She was also a member of her Canasta Club for over 60 years. She always had something to cheer about; Whether it was the grandchildren playing football on a Friday night, nights bowling with her favorite gals or a summer camping trip to Walnut Lake. Her zest for life will live on thru the hearts and souls of her family forever.

Joan is survived by her children, Sharon (Steve) Nott, Karen (Bill) Nott, Michele Holycross, Marsha Dixon Parker (Robert Parker) and Michael (Peggy) Dixon; grandchildren, Shane (Shari) Dixon, Brock (Emily) Dixon, Molly (Larry) McCoy, Harley Nott (Jamie Evilsizor), Sarah Hoffer (Larry Joliff), Lizia (Kim) Nott, Toby (Amy) Nott, Rachael Miller, Megan Levings, Bobby Joe (Erica) Picklesimon, Jeremy Picklesimon, and Tim (Cassie) Picklesimon; 29 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette (Richard) Westfall, Rose (John) Arth and Margaret (Lawrence) Graham as well as several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jackie Hays and Mary Thomas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, Marshall E. Dixon; great grandson, Avery Dixon; son-in-law, Bill Nott and siblings, Marjorie Moore, Nelly Holt, Donna Clevenger, Robert "Bob" Nance, William "Bill" Nancy, Arthur "Doodle" Nance, Earl Nance and Warren "Bud" Nance.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2021 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, North Lewisburg, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the funeral home with Pastor Kenny Cordell officiating.

Burial will follow in Woodstock Cemetery.
