John "Jack" Alban Simpson, 87 of Mechanicsburg, departed this life surrounded by his loving family and friends, Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 24, 1930 in Glen Roy, Jackson County, Ohio. He married the love of his life and best friend, Mary Lee (Spangler) and they were married for 61 wonderful years. They had two daughters, Jacqueline (Mark) Howley and Wendy (Rhonda) Simpson, 2 grandchildren, Joanna, John-Mark (Marcie) and one great-grandchild, Jackson Howley. Jack is survived by his sisters, Beverly (Jim) Reisinger, Charlene Kennedy & Karen (John) Price, and by his brother, Sam Simpson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Albon Simpson and Bertha E. (Goheen) Simpson; his brothers, Charles and Howard Simpson; and his sister, Imogene Gochenour.
Jack served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Jack retired from International Harvester in 1980 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Champaign County Cruisers and loved participating in their events with his 1960 Cherry Red Chevrolet Impala. Jack was a member of the Eagles Aerie 3974. Jack was the past president of the Mechanicsburg Lions Club.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and loved them all dearly.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
