Julia Jane Holland, 75, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
She was born April 25, 1939 in Clark County, the daughter of Robert O. and Thelma M. (Pitzer) Jones.
Julia worked at Chet’s IGA in Mechanicsburg as a cashier for many years, until she moved to Grimes Manufacturing from where she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved husband Dick, traveling when able and even going to Germany when her son was stationed there. Julie loved making crafts when she was able and especially enjoyed making homemade cards for the family of which she was very proud and her cards were always beautiful.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard M. “Dick” Holland of Bellefontaine; son, Richard R. Knief of Bellefontaine; daughter, Sheila (Lee) Ballinger of West Mansfield; grandchildren, Douglas Murphy II, Cynthia (James) Culp, Brandis J. Pack, Scott (Cheri) Ballinger, Michele (Charlie) Parker, Kristen, Rebecca and Kenneth Knief; great grandchildren, Julian, Paisley and Abby Murphy, Vendalyn, Cassandra and James Culp, Ceiyra and Kolston Showalter, Caleb, Caitlin, Kaden, Devin and Matthew Ballinger, James and Aubri Parker; sister’s, Roberta (Donald) Carmean of North Lewisburg and Beatrice (Carl) Nawman of South Charleston; brother, William (Ginger) Jones of Mechanicsburg; sisters-in-law, Deb Richardson, Nancy (Pete) Hugo and Lucille (Don) Walters; brother-in-law, Mike (Suzie) Holland; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Kenneth Knief; beloved sister and brother-in-law, Ruth & Richard Evilsizor; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Larson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com
