Kenneth “Kenny” Chamberlain, 76, of Urbana passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009 in his residence surrounded by his family. He was born January 7, 1932 in Rushylvania, OH, the son of Max and Katherine (Anderson) Chamberlain.
He loved horses and enjoyed boating, fishing, and tractor pulls. Kenneth was stationed in Japan while he served in the Army. He was a member of the New Carlisle VFW, the Urbana Am Vets and Moose Lodge, and Eagles in New Carlisle, Urbana, and Indian Lake. He was also a member of the Troy Fish and Game.
He is survived by son Luke Chamberlain of Urbana; daughters, Lorrie (Roger) VanHoose, Robyn (Gary) Shafer, Kim Kies, and Susie Chamberlain all of Urbana; grandchildren, Nicolas VanHoose, J.R. (Terri) Shafer, Jennifer (Brad) Shafer Russell, Amanda Mayse, Cierra Kies, and Ivy Goings; great grandchildren, Drew, Brystol, Taylor, Paige, Shaden, and Gavin; brother, Donnie (Carol) Chamberlain of Tennessee; sister, Ann (Dave) MacGillvray of Springfield, special friend Roger Grout, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue, and brother Eddie Chamberlain.
Following Kenny’s wishes, his body will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME Urbana, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Memorial Contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
