Kimberly Kay Burkes, 52, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Mercy Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 29, 1961 in Portsmouth, VA.
Kim enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, going to yard sales and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Burkes, her daughters, Tina (Tony) Drummond of S. Charleston and Jennifer Burkes of Mechanicsburg, her sons, David Shriver, Jr. of Mechanicsburg and Brian (Nikki) Shriver of Springfield; her grandchildren, Cadence Schaffer, Addison, Johnathan, Eli & Ela Shriver, Nickolas Ater, Zaiden Oryl and Collin Long; her parents, Rev. John and Alice (Taylor) Long, her brothers, John (Monica) Long, Gary (Lynda) Long, Kevin Long & James (Shelly) Long, her sisters, Pam Long and Robin Long, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her step-son, Steve (Burkes) Long, grandmother-in-law, Minnie Burkes, as well as her grandparents.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg,OH with the Pastor Jesse Walters officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Vernon Funeral Home, 257 W. Main St., Mechanicsburg, OH 43044 to help offset funeral expenses.
