Larry Lynn Chambers, 69 of Urbana, passed away, Friday, September 02, 2011 in Heartland Nursing Home in Urbana under Hospice Care. He was born August 23, 1942 in Urbana the son of Carl and Katherine (Morgan) Chambers.
Larry was a 1960 graduate of Urbana High School. He was a good football
player also named “Hump”. Larry worked as a meat cutter for many years with Stocksdale’s Grocery here in Urbana and Piqua. He then worked for Gruntz IGA for Charlie Gruntz and also for Howard Bond paper mill. He and his wife Linda owned a cleaning service for 35 years, L&L Cleaning. Larry was a great Jokester; he was always making you laugh. He and Linda loved to line dance, as well. Larry will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Linda (Idle) Chambers, his children, Shelley (Eaton) (George) Wood, Sandy (Eaton) Knotts, Larry E. Chambers and Amanda (Chambers) (James) Lykins II, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Carl Chambers, his sister, Patricia Scarberry and great granddaughter, Zoey Litteral.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10-1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio; where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Chaplin Mitch Pollic officiating.
Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Urbana. Serving as pall bearers, Larry E. Chambers, Julian Wood, George Wood, Andrew Litteral, Dick Randall and Jay Lykins, honorary pall bearers, Dylan Knotts and Jacob Chambers.
