Laura Mae Mader, 92, of Urbana passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 in Urbana Place, Urbana.

She was born January 26, 1924 in Springfield, the daughter of Omar and Pearl (Lile) Hockett. Laura was a graduate of Springfield High School. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of her, we find solace knowing that she is now with God, is at peace, and for that, we are grateful.

She is survived by her daughter Kathryn (Kerry) Brugger of Urbana; her son Joseph (Angela) Mader of Miamisburg; her 7 grandchildren; her 9 great grandchildren; her son-in-law, Kenneth Polyak and several nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph E. Mader; her 1st husband Howard Grisso, who was killed in the line of duty during WW II; her daughter Penny K. (Grisso) Polyak; and her brother, Omar Hockett.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Urbana Place for the loving care they gave to thier mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the St Mary’s Church, with Father Larry Gearhart officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior in the church. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 231 Washington Ave., Urbana, Ohio 43078 or Hospice of Miami Valley, 1948 N. Limestone St., Springfield, Ohio 45503.

Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.
