LeRoy Charles Maxam Jr., 61 of Urbana, passed away, Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Memorial Hospital of Union County.
He was born November 9, 1949 in Urbana, Ohio and was a 1967 graduate of Triad High School. LeRoy served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Honda of Marysville after 23 years and then was employed with Walmart in Marysville. He was a member of the American Legion Post #258 North Lewisburg. LeRoy was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was a Ford Man, he enjoyed working on cars and trucks; he especially enjoyed restoring his 1978 Ford pick-up truck. LeRoy also, enjoyed camping and he loved to watch his grandkids play sports.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his children, Dawn (Mark Roberts) Holycross of Bellefontaine and Kevin (Audrey) Maxam of West Liberty, his grandchildren, Tessie (Nathan) Holycross Simpson , Dalton Holycross and Tru Maxam, his step grandchildren, Joshua Harrington, Storm Harrington, Destinee Huffman, Hunter Roberts and Katelyn Roberts, step great grandsons, Bravyn and Parker Harrington; a brother, Richard (Nancy) Maxam of Alabama, a sister, Bonnie (Tom) Bowen of Marion, Ohio, half sisters, Ruthie (Erwin) Wendt and Sandy Bigness both of Florida; Father and Mother-in-law, Sherman and Delores Watkins of North Lewisburg, his sister-in-law, Linda (Steve) Carter, a special niece, Chastity Williams and her son, Carter Reese of Rushsylvania, Ohio; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Jennison and Connie Marie (MacDonald) Maxam
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg.
Military Honors will follow at 7:00 p.m. by the American Legion Post #258 North Lewisburg and the American Legion Post # 238 Mechanicsburg.
