Leslie Ann (Mullaney) Singley, 74, of Urbana passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born June 5, 1937 in Union County, Ohio, the daughter of Jay Walter and Laura (Husted) Mullaney.
Leslie was a 1955 graduate of Raymond High School. She was a member of the Relief Society through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Springfield. Leslie was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, french hand sewing and tatting (form of lace work). She also loved to cook and bake.
She is survived by her husband, Stewart LeRoy Singley of Urbana; daughter, Cynthia (Mike “Tony”) Cooper of West Mansfield; sons, Andrew (Melinda “Lynne”) Rockhold of Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren, Angela Fogle of Marysville, Betsy (Jay) Howard of Marysville, Laura M. (Steven) Boyd of Middleburg and Melanie Rockhold of Urbana; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Laura Jean Grooms (Joseph Detwiler) of Marysville; brother, Fahy “Skip” (Mary Ann) Mullaney of Charlottesville, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael “Rocky” Rockhold; sister, Mary Alice Winter; brother, Jay Walter Mullaney Jr.
Following Leslie’s wishes her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Springfield with Bishop Gurets officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
