Lester Richendollar, 79 of Urbana, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
He was born March 23, 1937 in Marion Ohio. Lester served his country in the United States Army, where he was a paratrooper and received a good conduct medal. He was owner and operator of Phil’s Market in Cable.
Lester enjoyed singing karaoke and cooking. He also was an avid outdoorsman; whether fishing, gardening or just watching nature.
He is survived by his fiance Peggy Williams, his children, Richard (Sue) Timmons, Tony (Debby) Richendollar, Lisa Ratcliff and Kim (Kevin) Clark, his son-in-law, Charles Watts; his grandchildren, Karen (Shannon) Stidham, Krista (Stephen) Fannin, Kelsey (Isaac) Cooper, Haley (Shaun) Dunlap, Clarissa Watts, Daniel (April) Comer, Matthew (Katie)Comer, Caleb (Kait) Clark, Mason (Daysha) Clark, Silas Clark, Chad Boyd, Jeremy Boyd, Lisa (Brian) Roth, Joseph (Amy) Ratcliff, Matt Ratcliff and Michael (Dee) Ratcliff; several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lillian (Temple) Richendollar, his wife, Phyllis Ann ( Moore) Richendollar, son, Terry Richendollar; daughter, Carol Watts, son-in-law, Bob Ratcliff, his grandchildren, Heidi Smith, Shelby Watts and Rick Ratcliff.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Urbana.

we are so sorry to hear of Lester’s passing. We went to school with him at Fulton and had just re-connected with him last summer. We had planned with him to meet again this spring. We hope you received the copy of the Fulton yearbook we sent a couple of weeks ago.
