Linda Kay Craig, 67, of St. Paris, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 20, 1951 in Urbana, the daughter of William Foster and Mary Lucille (Giffen) Taylor. Linda was a 1969 graduate of Graham High School and was a caretaker at heart. She was a childcare provider for over 130 kids, and they were her life and her passion. Linda enjoyed cooking, watching WWE wrestling, and playing cards with her best friends, Mary Ann and Cindy. She was a whiz at computer games and loved cuddling with her cat, Sparky. Linda was loved by many and will be sadly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard D. "Rick" Craig; her sisters, Jean Hagenbuch of Urbana and Mary Alice Bletzacker of Hilliard; her best friend of 61 years, Mary Ann Routt and long-time friend, Cindy Stonerock; her nieces and nephews, Joanna (Russ) Oppelt, Cheryl Erwin (James Dudley), Chris Hagenbuch, Danny Hagenbuch, Jonathan (Amanda) Hagenbuch, David Rice, Dick (Shelly) Craig and Teresa (Danny) McCall; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William A. "Billy" Taylor; her grandmother, Hazel Giffen; and her niece, Oleta M. Thomas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana.
