Lindsey ”Lee” Wallace, 79, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Springfield Regional Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1933 in Ulysses, KY, the son of Ervin and Hazel (Johnson) Wallace.
Lee enjoyed vegetable gardening and watching westerns, especially westerns staring John Wayne. In his younger years, Lee was ordained as a minister in the Freewill Baptist denomination. He most recently attended the Mechanicsburg Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Ron (Sharon) Wallace of Urbana; daughters, Cathy Howard of Mechanicsburg and Janet (Wes) Yoho of West Liberty; grandchildren, Adam (Sara) Howard, Bradley Wallace, Cassie Wallace (Chad Groves), Greg (Jasmine) Wallace and Heather Howard; great grandchildren, Riley, Benjamin, Callie and Ellie; sister, Lillian (Curt) Meade; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Tian and Randy Lambert.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred (Collier) Wallace; son-in-law, Bennie Howard; grandchildren, Zachary Yoho and Keith Howard; brothers, Bob and Paul Wallace.
The family would like to thank Drs Ullah and Varghese, as well as the staff of DaVITA Dialysis for all of their loving care.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg with Pastor Don Hix officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
