Lorah Ann Zeigler, 88, of Urbana, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 7, 1920 in Urbana, Ohio the daughter of Griffith & Margaret (Printz) Ropp.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Zeigler, her daughter, Georgia A. Yocom, her daughter-in-law, Barbara E. Zeigler, her son-in-law, Paul E. Dennis, her grandson, Rory W. Zeigler, her brothers, John Connolly & Floyd Ropp, her sisters, Mary Brunotte, Rita Stegall & Helen Zeigler.
Surviving are her children: Ronald W. Zeigler of West Liberty; son-in-law, Ross E. (Mary) Yocom of Cable; Roger W. Zeigler of Urbana; Sandra L. Dennis of Springfield;
Sarah Jane (Rick) Rice of Morganton, North Carolina; & Jana K. (Tim) Champ of Urbana; her grandchildren, Randy W. (Di) Zeigler, Brenda E. (Rich) Nance, Roy W. (Trish) Zeigler, Russell E. (Dawn) Yocom, Scott A. Yocom, Annette K. Dennis, Paul E. (Andrea) Dennis Jr., Nathan R. Dennis, Eric D. Rice, Michael L. (Kelly) Rice, Julia R. (Clay) Gilbert, Lori B. Rice, Amanda K. (Dustan) Curtin, Emily A. Champ; great-grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda) Zeigler and their children, Deklan and Alison, Jesseka (Tim) Peck and their children, Ryan and Tayden, Molly Zeigler, Morgan Zeigler, Melissa Levan, Ryan and Quinton Yocom, Anthonie, Aubrea, Aliyah and Kason Dennis, Seth, Ericca, Garrett and Levi Rice, Addisan Curtin and Riley Champ;
Her brothers, George (Eloise) Ropp of Urbana & Philip (Donna) Ropp of Florida; brothers-in-law, Robert Brunotte & William Mahan, sister-in-law, Marie Connolly; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Lorah Ann will be remembered as an accomplished seamstress, who dedicated many hours a day helping others.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lorah Ann will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Amlin officiating.
