Lucille E. “Bunny” Baker, 83 of Cable, passed away, Sunday, February 09, 2014 in her home with her family and friends by her side.
She was born November 8, 1930 in Kalamazoo, MI and was a 1948 graduate of Urbana High School. She retired from Champaign County Human Services as an accountant. She was a member of the Urbana Moose Lodge # 1215. She loved spending time with family and friends, watching birds and was an avid and loyal Ohio State Buckeye fan.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Homer Baker, her daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Diehl McKeever of Centerville, her son, William “Bill” (Angie) Diehl of Ray, Ohio, daughter-in-law, Gayle Diehl, her step-sons, Tim and Terry Baker both of Urbana, her grandchildren, Brett McKeever, Nathaniel and Andy Diehl and Amy (Jim) Todhunter, great grandson, Reid Todhunter, step-grandchildren, Tara & Wes; her sister, Dorothy Harkins of Venice, FL as well as several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen Caton, her son, Bob Diehl and her brothers, Richard, Robert and Donald Caton.
The family would like to extend their gratuity to Community Mercy Hospice for the wonderful care from their staff. In lieu of flowers the memorial contributions may be made to them, 444 W. Harding Rd, Springfield, Ohio 45504-9964.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Please join Bunny in supporting her favorite team and wear your scarlet and grey. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the funeral home with Father Larry Gearhart officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Urbana.

It’s been many years since we were neighbors in Urbana, but we have great memories of Bunny and her family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of loss.
