Luke J. Hawke, 25, of St. Paris, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 29, 2021, in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

He was born July 21, 1995, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Matt Hawke and Jenni (Dill) Hawke. Luke was a 2014 graduate of Graham High School where he was a 4-year member of the cross-country team. He enjoyed aviation classes through Ohio Hi-Point where he was afforded an opportunity to showcase his love for aviation by helping restore the Champaign Gal. Luke was a proud member of the Ohio Valley Military Society and was passionate about military history. He was a 4-H member and could be found in nearly every section of the Champaign County Fairgrounds during fair week. He was employed at KTH Industries. He loved animals of all kinds, but especially his dog, Lily. He was always listening to classic rock music, with Lynyrd Skynyrd being a favorite. Most of all, Luke enjoyed being outdoors, around a bonfire and spending time with his family and friends.

Luke never knew a stranger and was known for always helping those in need - even if it meant leaving hours early for work just to give a friend a ride. Luke gave in death just as he gave in life; his final act of kindness was giving the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation.

His family and friends will miss his unmistakable laugh, his big heart, and his beautiful eyes. Luke will be missed beyond measure.

Luke is survived by his parents, Matt and Jenni; brother, Zach; daughter, Madison; girlfriend, Alaina; paternal grandmother, Virginia Henson; maternal grandparents, Joe and Barbara Dill; aunts and uncles, Kevin (Lynn) Hawke and family, Dan (Julie) Hawke and family, Carey (Arlene) Hawke and family, Debbie Dill and family, and Julie (Steve) McGill and family; and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Alden Hawke; uncle, Jeff Dill; and beloved dog, Lily.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Please wear casual clothing or your favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Luke's name to Life Connections of Ohio, 40 Wyoming Street, Dayton, Ohio 45409 and/or the Ohio Valley Military Society, 6540 Waldorf Place #6, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230.

Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com.
