Marilyn Sue Havens 71 of Urbana, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born August 18, 1941 in Urbana, Ohio and was a 1959 graduate of Urbana High School. She was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church. Sue previously was employed with Citizen National Bank and then spent many years working with her husband in their family business, as a book keeper and insurance agent at BNFS Insurance agency.
Sue enjoyed spending time at Indian Lake, was an avid Ohio State University sports fan, sending greeting cards, attending the Champaign County Fair, but most of all spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her husband, Charles Havens; her son, Jeff A. (Michele) Havens of Urbana and their children, Joshua Pickering, Taylor & Shelby Havens and her daughter, Heidi (Dr. Brian) Fillmore of Knoxville and their children, Maddison (Stephen) Behan and Abigail & Blake Fillmore; her sister, Carol (Lewis) Terry of Urbana, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Janet Havens, James and Carol Havens and Marilyn and Richard Kaffenbarger; her nieces and nephews, Suzanne (Trent) Bever, Gayle (Scott) Oboy, Leslie (Mike) Gregg, Joby (Trista) Havens, Paul (Denise) Kaffenbarger, Becky (Craig) Winter, as well as great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred (Gullett) Davis, her brother-in-law, Newt Havens and her niece Teri Kaffenbarger.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 in the Urbana United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Lillibridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Mutual. Memorial contributions may be made to the Champaign County Cancer Association, P. O. Box 38125, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
