Marlin A. Smith, 72, of Urbana, passed away, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Community Hospital in Springfield.
He was born July 8, 1937 in Urbana the son of Pat (Dempsey) & Alden C. Smith.
Marlin was a 1955 graduate of Graham High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed contractor for many years. He enjoyed putting puzzles together and was a life member of the K of P in St. Paris. Marlin took great pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren.
Marlin’s survivors include, his daughter, Karen (Richard) Bailey of Urbana, his sons, Duane (Sandy) Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Tod (Mickey White) Smith of Richmond, VA, his grandchildren, Tony (Crystal), Amanda, Chad & Alex, 2 great granddaughters, Emma & Ella, his sisters, Priscilla (Ron) Goodrich of Jackson, MI & Kay (Ed) Coffey of Summerton, SC, his brothers, Wayne (Pat) Smith of Cement, MI & Gary (Linda) Smith of Wapakoneta, as well as several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sue, and a brother Bob.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Kingscreek Cemetery.
