Martha A. Eggleston 85, of Quitman, Georgia, formerly of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, Georgia.
She was born December 4, 1935 in Mechanicsburg the daughter of Francis (Lyons) and Richard Seabrook. Martha was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Urbana. She was a member of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron Urbana Chapter #530 O.E.S. She was also a member of the Urbana Paramedic Board, Public Employee Retirees and Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio. She was volunteer at Mercy Memorial Health in Urbana. Martha enjoyed shopping, gardening, sewing and traveling. She was a former Champaign County Deputy Clerk of Courts and Administrative Supervisor at the Champaign County Job and Family Services. She loved music and sang with the Guys and Dolls choral group and the First Presbyterian Church choir for over 40 years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Martha is survived by her sons, Daniel A. (Kim) Smith, Randy (Cheryl) Smith, Ronnie A. Smith, and Terry C. (Amy) Smith. She has 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron, Kristin, Jason, Anthony, and Elizabeth Smith; 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Shelby and Kiyo Smith and 2 nieces and nephews.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband Robert Eggleston, her parents; infant brother, Guy W. Seabrook and special aunt Shirley Vanhorn.
Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio with Pastor Kazy Hinds officiating.
Burial will follow OakDale Cemetery, Urbana.
