Mayci Haven Powell, 20, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio passed away on Tuesday March 27, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born December 21, 1997 in Marysville, Ohio. Mayci was a 2016 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School where she played soccer and softball, she was attending Clark State University for criminal justice. Mayci was a member of 4-H and FFA, she enjoyed shopping and showing cattle at the Champaign County Fair. Mayci was a great big sister and loved to spend time with her family.

Mayci is survived by her father, Christopher T. (Betsy) Powell; sisters, Morgan, Everly and Landree Powell; grandparents, Elaine (Don) Powell, Wayne (Jacque) Powell, Seymour Buchanan, Susan (Rick) DeLong, Steve and Steph Dunlap; great grandparents, Jim and Betty Welch, Marge Venrick and Ruth Swank; aunts and uncles, Troy and Mandy Powell, Kacy and Tom Moore and Keith Buchanan as well as several cousins and a host of friends including the Swank family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kristen R. Buchanan; her aunt, Kwen E. Buchanan and special friend, Mack Hartley.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-7 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 in the Mechanicsburg Christian Fellowship Church. Funeral services to celebrate Mayci's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in the church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

The family would like to thank Nationwide Children's Hospital, The James Cancer Center, John Canestraro and the Village Pharmacy, Running 4 Life, Hospice of the Miami Valley and everyone else who have helped Mayci though this past year.
