Michael S. Geiger 40 of Urbana, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus after a long battle with Crohn’s Disease.


He was born February 4, 1969 in Springfield, Ohio. Mike attended High Point and was a 1987 graduate of Urbana High School.
Mike was employed as a tool maker with Stolle Precision and Tool in Sidney, Ohio and Grimes / Honeywell in Urbana until he became disabled. He loved spending time with his family, as well as his dogs, Kelsee, Tucker and Ziggy.


Mike is survived by his wife of 15 years, Janet (Powell) Geiger of Urbana, his mother, Carolyn (Samuel) and James Burke of West Liberty, his children, Michelle (Dale) Moffitt and Chad Evilsizor, his grandchildren, Joshua Newman and McKenzee Martin all of Urbana, his sister, Lisa (Chris) Lewis and their son, Braden Lewis all of Bellefontaine; his sister-in-laws, Thelma (Phil) Loffing of Urbana, Nellie Nolte of Urbana, Virginia (Ronald) Danmaker of New Paris and Caroline Ludy of California, his brother-in-laws, Floyd (Judy) Powell of Hamilton and James (Ethel) Powell of Urbana. Mike is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. A special thanks to Cathy Barrett, his nurse and friend, doctors, Dr. Fred Thomas, Dr. Chris South and Dr. John Randolph.


He is preceded in death by his father, Leon Geiger.


A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in the funeral home with Rev. George Riddell IV officiating. Serving as honorary pall bearers, Joshua Newman, McKenzee Martin and Braden Lewis.
