Michael “Mike” (Lefty) McConnell, 51, of Urbana, Ohio passed unexpectedly on Saturday, August 20, 2016.
He was born July 11, 1965 to Daniel and Linda McConnell. Along with his parents, Michael leaves behind his 3 children, Kacey McConnell and her fiance Brad Chapman, Michael II McConnell, and Carson McConnell; his sisters, Cheryl (Derrick) Davis, Melissa (Aaron) Huffman, and special friends, June and Mike Landes, and his fiance Mary Bitzel and her son Hunter, eight nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Laura McConnell, Jack Ross, Virginia Instine and grandson Leland Michael McConnell. Michael had so many friends. He will certainly be missed by so many. He was a long time employee of Domino’s Urbana. He was very dedicated to his job and his children. He enjoyed walking his dog, Buddy, bowling, playing pool, fishing, motorcycles and cars, but mostly spending time playing cards, games and socializing with his family and friends. Michael loved people and was known for telling some really great stories about his life experiences.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana with Pastor Tony Pena officiating.
The family will receive friends 1 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses; Vernon Funeral Home, 235 Miami St., Urbana, Ohio 43078.

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could be there for you guys. Mike is and was a wonderful man friend and I know he was a grate dad and most of all family I can remember as a kid when he first found out he was becoming a dad for the first time he come over to the house to tell me and the rest of the family had a cook out and I remember him mom and my brother and sister and a good friend of the family playing cards just having family time I have lots of good memories of him he was more then just family to me he was my best friend I am going to miss you Mike I love you may you rip fly with the angels and tell Connie and Billy I love them till we meet again in heavan
