Visitation

Visitation Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM at Vernon Funeral Home

Naomi Sue Randall, 69, of Urbana passed away to her new heavenly home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Miami Valley Hospital due to heart and lung issues complicated by diabetes.
Sue was born on February 24, 1947 at the Urbana Hospital, the daughter of Orville P. and Anna Naomi Boldman (both of whom are deceased).
Sue was best described as gregarious, knowing no strangers and always with a broad smile covered in warmth. She always looked for the best in each person, and always gave encouragement and compliments to others. Her faith in Jesus Christ showed through her personality and kindness to others. Sue enjoyed activities in her early years, such as being involved in baton twirling contests, and later was involved in the North Mother’s Club, the PTA, and participated in teaching/assisting with Vacation Bible School at the Church of Christ in Christian Union. She enjoyed watching her son Gregg play the drums as well as perform in Urbana University productions; and was known to her pair of sweet granddaughters as “Howdy Do” because as babies, she would say “howdy do” upon greeting them. Sue also enjoyed the musical talents of her nephews in the Country Music and Gospel fields. One of her slogans was “Have Pocketbook – Will Travel” as she enjoyed going places with her family over her life as health allowed.
Randall worked in four decades at Urbana University, starting as a secretary in the late 1960s and ending her career in the financial aid office. She enjoyed working with the professors and students over the years, and was proud to see her son graduate there in 1990.
Sue is survived by her devoted husband Don Randall of over 48 years; and only son, Gregg (Dana) Randall of Lewis Center, Ohio, and granddaughters Allison Randall (boyfriend Tim Skelton) of Woodstock, IL and Emily Randall (at home), as well as mother-in-law to Gregg, Shirley Johnson (from Tarboro, NC); Sue also felt to be a second mother to next-door neighbor, Joni Evilsizor Schaffer (deceased) as well as UU student, Lena Loi of Malaysia; brother Doug (Doris) Boldman of Tavares, Florida; sisters Janice (Roger) Mabry (deceased) of Milford Center, Ohio and their children Kevin (Nancy) Mabry of Milford Center, OH; Victor (girlfriend Peggy Richardson) Mabry of Milford Center, OH; Tracy (Sherry) Mabry of Milford Center, and Marcie (Keith) Inskeep) of Marysville plus their collective children; and Wilma (Alfred) Brammer of Urbana (both deceased); brother-in-laws William Van (Rita) Randall (deceased) of Urbana and their children John (Michelle) Randall of Aurora, IL; Jamie (Chad) Arnold of Urbana; and Jason (Deidre) Randall of Tampa, FL; John William (Sherrie) Randall (deceased) of Urbana and their children Zack (Jenn) Randall of Urbana and Zarah Randall of Urbana plus their collective children; and sister-in-law Jackie (Keith) Wynn of Woodstock and their children Rhonda (John) Vermillion of Cable and Keith Wynn plus their collective children; Loren (Bonnie) Bowers of Westville, Norman (Connie) Bowers of Mechanicsburg, and Steven (Tami) Bowers of Centerville. Sue had numerous, dearly loved relatives as well as friends and colleagues that help fulfill her life with good times and strong bonds.
A special thanks goes to Miami Valley Hospital for their exemplary care the times that Sue was under their recuperating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.
