Nelson Ross, 75 of Woodstock, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in his home after his courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 21, 1941 in Kings Mill, Ohio to the late James and Lillian Ross. Nelson was a member of the Middletown Church of God in Cable. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed baking in his later years.
Nelson is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth (Redmon) Ross; children, Missy ( Russell) Gillespie, Rob (Cindy) Ross, Doug (Tammy) Ross, and Mark (Amy) Ross; grandchildren, Shayna, Adam, Kristen, Derrick, Nick, Ryan, Allison, Addison, Griffin, Ava; great-grandchildren, Blaze, Ella, Sofi, Lincoln, Titus, Lilly, Dallas, Braylan, and Karlie; brother, Dale (Rose) Ross; sister, Evelyn (Don) Sellman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Martha Salmon and Mary Tankersley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the FRESHWATER, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday May 31, 2017 in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Instine officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service from 12-1 PM.
Burial will follow in Jenkins Chapel Cemetery, Cable.

I was sorry to read about Nelson. I enjoyed working with him at Fairbanks.He was always so easy to be around, just a good person. He is walking the streets of gold now and completely healed. We can’t ask for anything more. Prayers to you and the family.

Though some don’t know this man meant more to me than any other I will miss you and thank God for every day I was allowed to see you and the days I got to talk to you. Sir I never knew my father but if I did I only hope he was half a man you are . My prayer to the family if you need anything please call I would go to the moon and back for you
