Nora (Fraley) Vanhoose, 91, of Mechanicsburg passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
She was born February 16, 1923 in Louisa, Kentucky, the daughter of William T. and Millie (Tomlin) Fraley.
Nora married the late Elmer W. Vanhoose on November 29, 1941 in Louisa Kentucky. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Mechanicsburg. Nora enjoyed flowers and gardening, watching all of her grandkids sporting events and playing Skip-Bo.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Russell) Bush of Mechanicsburg; sons, Steve (Ruthie) Vanhoose of Springfield and Harold (Suzi) Vanhoose of Mechanicsburg; 8 grandchildren, Lori, Andy, Kevin, David, Eric, Lisa, Mike, and Jaki; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ann Vanhoose of Cable and Christine Vanhoose of McKinney, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer Vanhoose; son, Roy Vanhoose; brothers, Willard, Schofield, and Bert; sister, Ivory.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Aites officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, 130 Park Ave, Mechanicsburg, OH 43044.
