Patricia Ann Hixon, 81, of Mechanicsburg, was welcomed home by the Lord on Friday, May 4, 2018 in her home.

The daughter of Arthur and Marie (Miller) Boggs, she was born on April 8, 1937 in Plumwood, OH. Graduating from Mechanicsburg High School in 1955, she soon married the love of her life, Ron. Married for 62 years, the two were inseparable. Together, hand-in-hand, they not only shared their love, but taught how to love.
Pat enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, traveling, watching her kids and grandkids play sports, and the beach. She could often be seen doing the "Sanibel Shuffle" while searching for shells along the water's edge.
But she was so much more than words on paper. She was the heart and soul and strength of her family which she cherished 'to the moon and back.' A song lyric from The Sound of Music asks "How do you keep a wave upon the sand? How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand" We had to let her go, until well see her again.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ron. Her daughters, LouAnne (Monty) Kerr; Kim (Tim) Patten; Kristi (Thad) Hartzler and her son, Ross (Robin) Hixon. Grandchildren: Stephanie (Jake)Reyher; Stephen (Leslie) Kerr; Ryan (Sarah) Kerr; Ronni Patten (Adam) Conner; Tim (Beth) Patten; Jordan (Dane) Allard; Jansen Hartzler; Ross Hixon II; and Amy Hixon; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Boggs; a sister, Wanda (Ora) Baldwin and special friends, Judy Yates and Barb Moore.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jimmy Boggs.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg with Pastor David Hixon officiating. Serving as Pallbearers; Tim Patten, Timmy Patten, Thad Hartzler, Ryan Kerr, Stephen Kerr, Monty Kerr and Austin Mattox; Honorary Pallbearer, Connor Hixon.

Services entrusted to SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.

There is no way to describe loss, no way to tie it up with a bow. It is like every pain you’ve ever felt enveloping you at once, and I am sorry your family is faced with that pain now. Though it may seem far fetched, there is hope. “There is going to be a resurrection.” (Acts 24:15) The promise held out in the Bible, that death is not everlasting. It will be undone by God. He will destroy death and resurrect, being back to life, those who have died. May this hope comfort your grieving hearts at this difficult time.

My heart is with your family. She was the kindest woman and had such a naturally gentle nature about her; apparent from the moment her beautiful eyes made contact with anyone. The world was bestowed a beauty by allowing her to be here. I wish there were more people like her.
