Peter “Bruce” Derr, 59 of Urbana passed away, Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in his residence.

He was born May 17, 1950 in Urbana, Ohio; the son of Donald Bruce and Juanita Luray (Neil) Derr.


Bruce served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was employed with White’s Ford as a mechanic for over 28 years. He enjoyed NASCAR, playing pool, his dogs, Buddy and Sammy, fishing and camping.

Bruce adored his wife and loved spending time with his children and grandkids. He was well loved by everyone and will be sadly missed.


Bruce is survived by his wife, Pam (Wynn) Derr, his children, Shannon Nott of Bellefontaine, Todd Brayton of Florida & Tony (Shelly) Brayton of Urbana, his grandchildren, Austin, Layne, Lindsey, Payten & Brandon; his brother, Wayne Derr of Urbana, his sisters, Pam (Raymond) Green of Urbana & Pat (Rollie) Beavers of Urbana as well as several nieces & nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Valerie Edwards and Brenda Shuler, a grandson, Dylan Brayton, and his mother and father in-law, Virginia & Bill Wynn who adored him.


A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the family residence, 5299 Game Farm Rd., Urbana. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Pearce-Kerns Post 120, Urbana.


Following his wishes his body will be cremated.


The family would like to extend a Special Thanks to Pat Beavers, Cindy Knotts, Hospice of Bellefontaine, Danny, Rollie, Jeff & Keith for their hard work and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
