Phillip W. Deardurff, 72 of West Liberty, passed away, Friday, April 8, 2011 in The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born September 6, 1938 in Allen Center, Ohio.
Phillip graduated from Perry- Zane High School and served his country in the United States Navy. He retired after 34 years of service with O.M. Scotts Company. Phillip’s passion was being on the farm; working on equipment, out in the fields or helping in the barns. He enjoyed working for his brother-in-law & nephew at Phillip’s Farms and helping his son & other farmers in the area.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara J. (Stanley), his daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Archer, his son, Jeff (Tarra) Deardurff , all of West Liberty, his granddaughters, Stanleigh Archer and Grace & Elizabeth Deardurff, step grandchildren, Brooke (Kerry) Craig, Dusty Archer and Adam (Leaha) Archer, step great grandchildren, Laney & Calen Craig; his brother, Fred (Kathy) Deardurff of East Liberty; his sister-in-laws, Pat (Gerald) Phillips of North Lewisburg, Rosemary (James) Hunsicker of Bellefontaine & Virginia (Fred) Finfrock of Bellevue, MI and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and F. Blanche (Poling) Deardurff and an infant sister, Rose Marie.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
