Phillip Lee Myers, 66, of Urbana, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
He was born August 5, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Paul Roy and Jonnie (Johnson) Myers.
Phillip was a member of the River of Life Christian Center and loved to collect eagles, horses, and tigers. In his younger years, he was a professional wrestler, AKA, “Mr. Lucky.” Phillip spent 30 years at BP in Springfield, 7 years at Swifty in Springfield, and 5 years at UDF in Urbana before retiring from Wal-Mart in Urbana after 5 years. He enjoyed playing Legos with his granddaughter, Lexis, playing horseshoes, studying the Bible, and eating chocolate ice cream & Oreos.
He is survived by his wife of over 21years, Linda (Moore) Myers; daughter, Angel Gatewood of Springfield; son, Phillip Lee Myers, Jr. of Springfield; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; step-sons, Kevin, Keith, & Patrick Kloeker, all of Urbana; brothers, Dickie McCuen of Springfield; sisters, Tassie McCuen of Springfield, Jackie (Carl) Vance of Columbus, and Kathy (Scott) Green and Paula Myers, both of Muncie, IN; mother-in-law, Mary Moore of Urbana; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tom & Pat Burkholder, George & Mary O’Neal, Ralph & Cheryl Mullenin, and Cathy Appone & Family.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, James A. Moore.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the River of Life Christian Center with Pastor Dan Leiker officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service. Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.

I am so sorry to hear about Phil. He was a great guy and will be deeply missed. Linda, you and your family are in our hearts and prayers!
