Reta C. Smith, 86 of Mechanicsburg passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Reta was born May 11, 1934 in Urbana, Ohio the daughter of the late James and Adelaide (Heath) Clark Stockwell. She retired from Grimes after 10 years of service. Reta enjoyed crocheting, baking and making candy at Christmas. Family meant the world to Reta. She loved like no other and will be sorely missed by all.
Reta is survived by her husband of 68 years, Elden Smith; daughters, Vicky (Joe) Jeter and Teresa (Joe) Gardner; son Glen Smith; grandchildren, Christy Edwards, Miranda (Shawn) Rodgers, Gina (Adam) Branstiter, Jennifer (Matt Kimball) Smith and Melissa (Matt Carroll) Smith; daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith; 11 great grandchildren, Michaela (Mason) Cullen, Ethan Edwards, Emma, Isabelle and Clair Rodgers, Justin Rhoades, Colton and Conor Kimball, Andrew Basham, and Liam Carroll and Johnathan Branstiter; 2 great great grandchildren, Kaiden and Adalynn Cullen; brother, James Clark as well as several nieces and nephews and her babysitting "grand" babies Shelby Masters, Kaylee and Matthew Allender.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Smith; brothers, Gene and Daniel Clark as well as close family friend Delores Callicoat.
Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 11-1 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Shawn Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
