Richard E. “Wolfman” Anderson 60 of London passed away suddenly Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Sentara Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA.
He was born December 25, 1947 the son of Richard V. & Lois (Worthington) Anderson.
Rick was a 1964 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He retired from Navistar after 33 years of service. Rick was an avid outdoorsman, who loved going on nature walks. He was an all around sports fan and even coached girl’s softball. Rick was well known for his special receipt cookies. Most of all he treasured spending time with his grandchildren. Rick will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Rick lives to cherish his memory his wife, Sandy (Russell) Anderson, his loving daughters, Allison (Ross) Hixon of Virginia Beach, VA, Holly Smith of London and Shannon Smith of Springfield, his grandchildren, Gage, Lainey, Keirsten & Maron, his loving brother, Joseph Anderson, his mother-in-law, Emma Russell & Oney Joseph of Mechanicsburg, special friends, Bob & Jenny Martineau and Tim Thompson & Jackie all of Florida; as well as a slew of Aunts, Uncles, Brother and Sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Kathy (Bowshier) Anderson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008 in the funeral home with Pastor Tim West officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Mechanicsburg.
