Richard Douglas Errett, 59 of St. Paris, passed away, Sunday, March 16, 2008 in his residence.
He was born April 10, 1948 in Urbana the son of John Douglas & Betty E. (Baker) Errett.
Dick was a 1966 graduate of Graham High School. It was there that he met his high school sweet heart, Jennifer Garver whom he married March 10, 1967.
Dick retired after 35 years as a truck driver.
He served his country in the Ohio National Guard. He was a member of the Convent Lutheran Church in St. Paris. Dick was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and hunting.
Dick’s passion was singing with his family in the group called The Erretts.
Dick is survived by his parents, John & Betty Errett of Terre Haute, his wife of 41 years, Jennifer Errett of St. Paris, his sons, John (Kris) Errett of AZ & Tony (Leanna) Errett of St. Paris, his grandchildren, Lauren, Daniel, Erika, Laura, Kaylynn, Hayley, Madison & Jackson; his brother, Bob (Debbie) Errett of Terre Haute; his mother-in-law, Ruthanna Garver of Urbana, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, broth-in-laws, sister-in-laws and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth W. Garver, a granddaughter, Virginia Errett and his sister, Marilyn E. Errett.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 in the Vernon Funeral Home Urbana with the Pastor Craig Fourman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Lutheran Church P.O.
