July 12, 1929 - April 17, 2016
Richard E. Graham, 86, went home to God on April 17, 2016. He was born in Marion, Ohio to Ruby and Homer E. Graham. He leaves behind two daughters, Karen (Jose’) Laboy of Phoenix, AZ. and Denise (Steve) Hoffman of Marion, OH., four grandchildren, Sarah and Bryan Hoffman, and Conrad and Madison Laboy; and five great grandchildren. He also leaves his “buddy” and companion of over 34 years, Coleen Locke and he was always considered as part of the Locke family. An electrical engineer, he served Ohio Edison Company for over 35 years in several capacities in different Ohio cities. He loved golf and traveling. He had a great sense of humor and made friends wherever he went.
Over the years, Richard had many wonderful caregivers and nurses. May God bless those who took the time and patience to see through the illness to the wonderful man that he was; Alzheimer’s disease robbed him of many things, but could never steal his charm. Special thanks to his private caregivers, Kim and Natalie. Over the last 8 years of his life, he resided at Forest Glen Health Campus, where the staff became like family. Thank you so very much for your caring and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the SKILLMAN, McDONALD, & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg with Pastor Phillip Rode officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery, Catawba. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45451 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 1335 Dublin Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
