Richard E. Prickett, 68 of West Liberty, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 16, 2011, in his home with his family by his side.
He was born July 14, 1942 in Urbana, Ohio the son of George and Genevieve (Warren) Prickett.
Richard was employed at Howard Paper Mill for over 45 years. In retirement, he worked for both Kroger’s in Urbana and Logan County Humane Society; Dick was always very active. He attended Mt. Tabor Church of God. Dick was a real handyman, he liked tinkering; he could fix anything. He enjoyed his dog, Davey and boating. Most of all he loved to be with his family.
He is survived by his mother. Genevieve, his wife, whom he married April 14, 1962, Janet (Lattimer) Prickett, his children, Christopher (Linda) Prickett of DeGraff, Cheryl (Brian) Schroeder of DeGraff, Keith (Janet) Prickett of DeGraff and Matt Prickett of St. Paris, 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, his sister, Joyce (Jerry) Dunham of Urbana, his mother-in-law, Mary Lattimer of West Liberty and several neices and nephews.
Dick is preceded in death by his father, George and his father-in-law, Richard Lattimer.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the funeral home with Pastor Kerry Snapp officiating.
Burial will follow in Springhills Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Universal Hospice, 701 South Main Street, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
