Robert T. ”Bob” Henry, 81 of North Lewisburg, passed away, Thursday, November 08, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 11, 1931 in Woodstock, Ohio the son of the late Robert W. and Louise (McKinster) Henry. Bob served his country in the United States Air Force as a gunner on a B29, during the Korean Conflict. He was a self employed carpenter, a longtime caretaker of the Woodstock Cemetery and the zoning inspector for Rush Township. He was currently the Commander for the North Lewisburg American Legion Post. Bob had an outgoing personality, he enjoyed talking and meeting new people; he never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Toby) Oelker of Zanesfield and his son, Bryan Henry of Circleville, his grandchildren, Erica (Paul) Richter of Huntsville, Joe (Stephanie) Bails of Urbana, Joshua (Brandi) Henry of St. Paris, Brandy (Luke) Underwood of Urbana, Jason Henry of Parkersburg, WVA, Michael Cox of Urbana and Nathan Cox of Urbana, 16 great grandchildren; his brother, Harry (Joann) Henry of Savannah, GA and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha (Timson) Henry and his son, Butch Henry.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the funeral home with Pastor Karen Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
