Robert “Bob” Roy Holland, 80, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 14, 1935 in North Hampton, the son of Alice E. (Wogoman) & Shirl S. Holland. Bob proudly served his country for 8 years in the United States Army. He retired from Navistar in 1998 after 32 years of service. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Urbana. In addition, he enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR, football, woodworking and camping. He always looked forward to family get-togethers, especially cookouts, where he could spend quality family time with those he loved most – that being his family – and watching his grandchildren play.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Billie Glynora (Williams) Holland; his daughters, Cathy (Ray) Nesselrotte & Sharon (Kerry Hustler); his sons, Larry (Kuulei) Holland & Keith (Susan) Holland, grandchildren, Robert, Tabitha (Mike Duncan), Dean & Ray (KD Justice) Nesselrotte, Tami (Wayne) Olinger, Seth Holland, Brennon (Jessica) & Nicole Jenkins (Jake Harshbarger), Jessica (Brian) Leffel, Chelsey Holland, Ashly Tillberry (Elliot Quickery), Allison (Justin) Ilges and Kyle & Cory Hustlar, 21 great grandchildren; his sisters, Lois Manning & Liz Hess as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, James Holland and Shirl Holland Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
Funeral services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Samples officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mutual.
