Robert Malcolm Holland, 68 of Urbana passed away at his home on Monday, April 29, 2013 surrounded by his family.
He was born September 1, 1944 in Urbana the son of the late Sarah Mable (Mason) and Pearl Franklin Holland.
He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and the Berlin Crisis. Robert was a member of the V.F.W., he enjoyed fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, camping, taking walks and playing poker.
He is survived by his sons Andy E., Robert M., and Scott A Holland, his daughter Pamela K (Holland) Oppy, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, his sisters Saundra Glidden and Myrna Gibson, a special son-in-law D.J. Oppy and 7 nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mark, Edward, James, Ted, and P.F., Jr. Holland and his sisters Betty Skaggs, Lily Wolfenbarger, Mable West, Mary Imel, Jean Taylor, and Donna Holland.
A special mention to a few people in his life; a very special great granddaughter, Laela Bustos; granddaughter, Tiffany Bustos and mother of his children Monika Stout. The family would also like to send a special thanks to his great niece Amy Gibson for providing exceptional care, to the Vernon Funeral Home and to Community Mercy Hospice.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. in Vernon Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. Military Honors will be provided by Pearce-Kerns American Legion Post #120. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in care of Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana.
