Robert L. Tate, 80, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born February 22, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri the son of the late Roy and Pauline (Leffert) Tate. He retired from Navistar, Springfield, Ohio and previously worked at I.H. Farmall in Rock Island, Illinois. Robert enjoyed running R/C cars, traveling and working as an auto mechanic for himself, family and friends. But most of all, he loved to visit family.

Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara J. (Taliaferro)Tate; children, Debra (Scott) Combs, Robert "Chris" (Terry) Tate; Roy "Chuck" (Tina) Tate, Joseph "Joe" (Paula) Tate, Jeffery "Jeff" (Denise) Tate and Jason (Kyla) Tate; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Ruth) Tate, Larry (Barb) Tate, Carl (Carol) Tate, Dennis (Kellie) Tate, Lea (Larry) Vaughn and Kathy (Dan) David; brothers-in-law, David (Linda) Taliaferro and Arnie Starn as well as several nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Roberta; mother and father-in-law, Guy & Beulah Taliaferro and sister-in-law, Judy Starn.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
