Mike Smith, 73 , of Xenia, Ohio, passed away, Monday, January 31, 2011, in his home.

He was born September 18, 1937, in Woodstock, Ohio. Mike graduated from Woodstock High School in 1955. He served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting a garden, spending time with family and friends and playing with his beloved grandsons Owen and Aiden. Mike lived with integrity. He was honest, hard working, overly generous, extremely stubborn, and still loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his loving and devoted family including his wife, Carol Smith; his daughter, Trish (Dane) Gustafson of Yellow Springs, Ohio; his sons, Tim and Jeff both of Dayton; his grandchildren, Teria, Caleb, Owen James & Aiden Dane, his sister, Elizabeth (Stan) Muirhead of Urbana; his brothers, Joe Smith of Springfield, Steve (Shirley) Smith of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dan Smith of Corpus Christi, TX, Dick Smith (special family friend Chris Phelps) of Springfield, David Smith of Urbana and Tom Smith of Woodstock, OH and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Margaret L. (Dorsey) Smith, his brother, John Smith and his sister, Peggy Smith.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the St. Augustine Catholic Church, 44 E. Washington St., Jamestown, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church with Father John Krumm officiating.
