Robert Lewis Wright, 28, Wooster, passed away June 25, 2009. He was born in Columbus, Nov. 25, 1980. Survived by his mother and stepfather, Carla and Vivan Duffy of Wooster; father, Roger J Wright, Urbana, Ohio; brothers Dan of Plain City, Joe of Urbana; grandmother Leah Wright of Urbana; aunt Margaret Turner, Westerville; uncle, William (Laurie) Turner of Westerville; uncles Paul (Deb) Wright, Urbana; Ted Wright of Circleville, and many cousins and friends.
Rob attended Mechanicsburg Schools and was a 1999 graduate of Northwestern-Wayne High School, where he was very active in FFA and received a State FFA Degree. He was also involved in 4-H for many years. A student at Ohio State University, he majored in agricultural education with minors in agricultural business and applied economics.
He was a member of Harmony #8 Free and Accepted Masons (Urbana) and was Raised to Sublime Degree of Master Mason in 2002. Rob was a fourth generation Mason back to his great-grandfather Clifford Wright.
While in college, Rob worked for a Pig Improvement company, selecting stock for breeders in the pork industry. He also worked at Best Buy in Wooster where he was operations supervisor.
Rob loved all aspects of farming and the outdoors. He was great with creatures large and small, helping his family care for a variety of four-footed animals and showing pigs at local fairs and the Little International Livestock Show at OSU. He also was an advisor to No Boundaries Therapeutic Riding Program. He was a good friend to those who knew him and especially loved kids. Many youngsters became his special friends.
A gathering of family & friends will be held from 5-7p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON funeral home, Mechanicsburg, OH. Masonic Services will follow at 7p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009 in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery, Urbana, OH.
A memorial service for Rob will be held at 6p.m. on Friday, July 3 at Orrville Mennonite Church 1305 W. Market St. in Orrville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
