Rodney J. Adams, 51, of Urbana, passed away, Monday, February 21, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born May 28, 1959 in Urbana, Ohio.
Rodney was a 1977 graduate of Urbana High School. He was the manager of the Urbana Twin Cinema for many years, as well as several other movie theaters. He was passionate about reading, especially westerns and scary books. He enjoyed fishing and playing the WII, with golf and bowling, he always beat everyone.
He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for both Spring City Fire Department and Wolf Creek Fire Department in Spring City, TN. He also was a weather spotter in Tennessee. Rodney loved his pets, Cocoa & Angel.
He is survived by his wife, Freida G. (Daniels); his mother, Ruth Ann (Thornhill) Adams (Joe Rizzutti) of Urbana; his daughters, Haley Patrick, Hannah Patrick & Kerra Adams all of Spring City, TN; his sister, Angela Zirkle (Steve Hill) of Urbana, his brother, Michael (Doreen) Adams of Urbana; several aunts, uncles and cousins; nieces and nephews, Chad (Amy) Adams, Michelle (Scott) Lane, Justin Adams (Britney Johnson), Eric Zirkle (Lauren McCurdy) and Adam Zirkle all of Urbana and several in Tennessee; as well as a special friend, Pastor Joe Flora of Springfield.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Lee Adams, his maternal grandparents, Millard and Lilly Thornhill and paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Roseabell Adams.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana with Pastors Joe Flora and Grant Cordell officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Following Rodney’s wishes, his body will be donated to the Genesis Program in Memphis, TN.
