Rodney Rittenhouse, 72 of Urbana, passed away, Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Lexington, South Carolina.
He was born August 2, 1941 the son of the late Homer & Minnie Alice Rittenhouse.
Rodney served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Thomas Marker Construction. Rodney enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cards, and gambling.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Branham) Rittenhouse, his daughters, LaDeana L. (Alan E.) Fryling of Bellefontaine & Karen S. (Chadd M.) Rozmus of Lexington, SC , his grandchildren, Elizabeth Fryling of Cincinnati, Brandon M. Rozmus, serving full time LDS Mission in Papeete, Tahiti and Jeramia A. Rozmus of Lexington, SC; his brothers, Ellis (Connie), Duane (Annette) and Dale (Carol) Rittenhouse; sisters, Lou Coleman, Sheila (Dennis) Herron, Lois (Richard) Ewing and Rhee (Richard) Burden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael D. Rittenhouse.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana with Bishop Bruce Jensen officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 – 1 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
